JOB PURPOSE

The Associate Officer will coordinate SELP activities at the upazila level to reduce child marriage and support women affected by violence. This role also includes ensuring effective engagement with the target community to address these issues.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop Upazila-level action plans and track progress.
  • Conduct surveys to identify girls at risk of child marriage and form Swapnosarothi groups for life skills sessions and meetings.
  • Organize meetings with parents, watch groups, and local administration on child marriage prevention.
  • Manage conditional cash transfers and provide livelihood support to eligible girls and families.
  • Coordinate legal advice, support for court cases, alternative dispute resolution, and referrals for survivors.
  • Report through software, and coordinate with key stakeholders.

SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme’s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.

ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent communication and organising skills.
  • Knowledge of basic legal system, alternative dispute resolution, and child marriage.
  • Familiar with MS Office and Excel.
  • Able to work in challenging situations.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in any relevant discipline from a recognised university/ institution.
