JOB PURPOSE
The Senior Officer will be responsible for implementing Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) systems and guidelines, collecting data, ensuring data quality, and administering accountability and learning activities at the field level. Additionally, this role involves providing technical assistance to field-level programme teams. Primarily, this senior officer will be acting as a liaison with the MEAL department and programme, and support field-level personnel.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collect quality data by following survey guidelines during field visits and document learnings.
- Assist with research methodology, sampling, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Coordinate with field-level programme personnel during monitoring and assessment exercises and actively participate in training and orientations.
- Process and submit data regularly using ODK or KoBo Toolbox as per designed questionnaires.
- Act as a bridge between MEAL Manager and programme, and support programme teams.
- Keep tabs on monitoring findings, gather relevant evidence and communicate it with the programme.
SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme’s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
- Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
- Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Strong communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and data entry in tab-based formats.
- Knowledge in project cycle management, monitoring and evaluation techniques (including RF, LogFrame, MEAL plan and indicator reference sheet).
- Expertise in data collection techniques, sampling methodology and monitoring concepts.
- Ability to travel extensively.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or any discipline from any recognised university/ institution.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 1 year of experience in relevant field.
