  • Social Media Creator & Manager

    Location:
     Remote
    Based anywhere

    Who We Are:

Eco comes from the Greek oikos, home.

Ecoversity is a school for learning how to belong at home together — with ourselves, each other, and the living Earth.

Modern life has pulled many of us far from the relationships and skills that once made us feel at home here: knowing how to grow food, make medicine, tend land, care for our bodies, and live in relationship with the natural world.
We create education in herbalism, permaculture, food growing, ecological design, and regenerative living — bringing ancestral wisdom into conversation with the world we’re building now.

Basically, we’re trying to help humans remember how to be good Earthlings again.

    The Role:

We’re looking for a Social Media Creator & Manager who is creative, fast, wildly resourceful, gets social media, understands business, and is at least a little obsessed with the natural world.

You’ll work with our Director of Brand & Creative Operations and co-founders on brand look, feel, and creative direction — but we’re not going to tell you what to post every day.

You need to bring the ideas and run with them.

We have a huge library of conversations with incredible teachers, thinkers, farmers, herbalists, Indigenous knowledge holders, and high-profile podcast guests doing meaningful work in the world.

Part of your job is to help their ideas travel. Find the 30 seconds that gives someone goosebumps, build the hook, edit it beautifully, and help lift their mission.

And sometimes forget the podcast entirely and make a reel about why everyone should be growing mint.

We want a mix of powerful podcast moments, trending social, education, beautiful Earth storytelling, and original ideas that get people stoked about plants, the planet, and being human again.

    What You’ll Own:

Create and publish approximately 5 pieces/week (~20–24/month)across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.

    You’ll

    • Generate your own content ideas — not wait for assignments
    •  Create 8–10 podcast/interview reels per month
    •  Create 4–6 original or trending reels
    • Create 6–8 carousels, graphics, or other social-first posts
    • Find the strongest moments inside long-form conversations and turn them into compelling short-form content
    • Create fast, beautiful designs in Canva
    • Write captions in Ecoversity’s voice
    • Source tasteful, cinematic B-roll when we don’t have footage
    • Capture original nature, garden, farm, or plant footage when possible
    • Schedule and publish across our channels
    • Respond to comments and DMs within one business day
    • Notice what’s working and make more of it

    Basically:
See the opportunity → have the idea → make the thing → get it into the world.

    Where Art Meets Strategy:

Ecoversity is a mission and a business, and social needs to understand both.

During launches and enrollment periods, you’ll work with our Director of Brand & Creative Operations, enrollment team, and co-founders to translate business goals into creative social content that actually helps us get there.

You should understand when we’re building community, when we’re educating, and when we’re asking people to enroll — without suddenly making Ecoversity sound like a weird internet marketer.

We need someone who can hold strategy + art + social + Earth at the same time.

A little part witch, part tech, part Matrix Mama.

    You understand the algorithm.

    You just don’t worship it.

    Who We’re Looking For:

First: you need to be a bit of a nature freak

We mean that with enormous affection. 😂

You don’t need a botany degree. But you should probably be someone who talks to plants, speaks water, gets unnecessarily excited about mushrooms, grows something, or regularly stops mid-walk because LOOK AT THAT TREE.

And you need to really get social media.

     You probably:

    • Constantly have content ideas without someone handing you a brief
    • Understand what makes people stop, watch, save, share, and ultimately take action
    • Can turn long podcasts into excellent short-form content
    • Understand hooks, trends, pacing, storytelling, B-roll, reels, and carousels
    • Are fast and genuinely good in Canva
    • Have strong short-form video editing skills
    • Have excellent visual taste
    • Can source footage that feels earthy, cinematic, textured, and real — not like an AI wellness commercial
    • Ideally have access to a garden, farm, homestead, or beautiful natural spaces you can occasionally film
    • Understand how creative content connects to marketing and enrollment goals
    • Can take something from hmmm, I have an idea → posted without five people managing you
    • Are quick, responsive, organized, and on it
    • Understand cultural humility around Indigenous and traditional knowledge

We’ll give you the brand guardrails, business priorities, incredible people, and giant content library.

You bring the ideas, taste, curiosity, social instincts, and initiative.

If your camera roll is 40% nature and making social media for Mama Earth sounds like a ridiculously good job, we probably want to meet you. 🌎

    How We Work:

This is an independent contractor, deliverables-based role.

You set your own hours and use your own tools. We care about great work, consistency, communication, and ownership — not tracking how many hours it took you to make a reel.

You’ll have a short weekly team touchpoint and work closely with our team during enrollment and launch periods. Otherwise, most collaboration happens asynchronously.

    Compensation

$2,600–3,200/month, based on experience and portfolio.

The monthly retainer covers approximately 20–24 social pieces/month, plus content ideation, editing, Canva design, captions, sourcing, publishing, community management, and team coordination.

Work meaningfully beyond this scope — major additional launch pushes, live events, travel, etc. — will be discussed and compensated separately.

We’ll review the role, scope, and compensation together after 90 days.

    To Apply

We’re moving quickly and plan to hire by Friday, August 28.

    Email hiring@ecoversity.org with the subject:
    Social — [Your Name]

    Send us:

    1. Three reels you’ve edited
Especially podcast/interview edits. Tell us which ones you sourced or shot yourself.
    2. Three graphics or carousels you’ve designed
    3. A few sentences about your relationship with the natural world
Tell us what you grow, make, love, tend, wander around in, or nerd out about.
    4. One Ecoversity content idea
What would you make? Where would you get the material? Why would someone stop scrolling?

This matters more to us than your resume.

    Paid Trial

Finalists will receive $250 for a short paid creative trial.

We’ll give you a theme and access to our world, but not a folder called PERFECT REEL CLIPS FINAL FINAL 2.

You’ll have two days to find something and make something.

Because creative work is work, we don’t ask people to audition for free.

We’re looking for someone who’s creative, quick, strategic, resourceful, has great taste, loves Mama Earth, and knows how to get shit done. 🌱

  • Head of Operations (Platform & Fund)

    About AJF

The Africa Jobs Fund catalyses high-impact companies that can dramatically boost incomes for people in Africa. We focus on two areas with the biggest potential to move the needle: export manufacturing and international labour mobility.

We venture-build new companies (identifying high-impact opportunities and sourcing talented founders to build them), and we make catalytic investments in existing companies.

We intend to mobilise $100m towards these spaces over the coming years, with which we aim to create $50bn in income gains for African workers and double the lifetime incomes of over 250,000 low-income people.

We launched at the end of May and have made several deployments since. We’ll do 15+ this year, and we’re aiming for 50+ next year. We’re scaling rapidly and we need someone to run the show and make sure that we have the systems to scale smoothly.

    The role

You’ll run operations for the fund and own most of what makes it work: the deployment process, the internal systems, reporting, hiring, and a good share of the investment support. There’s no playbook to hand you, so you’ll be the one writing it.

You’ll work closely with the partners, and directly with the finance and legal teams at Renaissance Philanthropy on structuring, compliance and reporting.

    What you’ll own

    • Systems that scale. Getting from several deployments a year to 50+ means high-quality systems are essential. Deployment pipeline, diligence workflows, portfolio tracking, reporting, internal tooling, knowledge management, cost-effectiveness analysis, deal structuring/templates. You design it, you build it, you own it.
    • Hiring.Finding and closing exceptional people, both for our own team and for the ventures we back. The people we want aren’t applying to job ads, so you’ll go and find them, run the process, and sell them on the opportunity yourself.
    • Investment support. Structuring, documentation, disbursement and portfolio management, working alongside RenPhil’s finance and legal teams. You don’t need to be a lawyer or an accountant. You do need to be fluent enough to run the process and catch problems early.
    • Everything else. Budgets, vendors, compliance, hiring logistics, travel, funder reporting. If it needs to work for the fund to function, it’s yours, and we’ll expect you to make the call without checking in first.

    Who we’re looking for

    • You’re exceptionally talented and you work hard. We’re small and fast and the bar is high.
    • You have high agency. You see a problem, decide what to do about it, and do it. Very little direction suits you fine.
    • You use AI constantly. A large share of your work should run through these tools, and the systems you build should have them baked in.
    • You have strong prior experience in investment and building systems for investors (or philanthropies).
    • You’re bought into our thesis and deeply motivated to create large-scale income gains for workers across Africa.

    Background and experience

    • 5–10 years of experience, including running operations at a fund. Venture, PE, impact or philanthropic all count. What matters is that you’ve seen how a fund actually works, and that you’ve dealt with the boring parts: deal admin, disbursement, compliance, funder reporting.
    • You’ve built systems from scratch rather than inherited and maintained them.
    • Good analytical judgement, and comfort deciding on incomplete information.
    • You have experience working in Africa.
    • Experience in early-stage companies or in either of our focus areas is a bonus.

    Compensation, location, and logistics

    • Compensation: Competitive.
    • Location: Remote, with a strong preference for candidates based in Africa.
  • Director, Measurement & Impact

Location: Remote (Preference for candidates within +/- 3 hours GMT)

Reports to: Senior Director, Measurement & Impact

    Job type: 0.8 to full-time

    Start date: October 2026

    About Caribou
Caribou is a global, remote-first consultancy working at the intersection of technology, inclusion, and impact. With a team of 50+ people across 20+ countries, we partner with ambitious foundations, companies, and governments to reimagine and deliver impact in a digital age. We design strategies, manage funds, uncover insights, and measure impact to help organisations mobilise technology for inclusive and sustainable growth.

Core to our culture is supporting staff autonomy over where, how, and when they work, with our annual in-person retreat bringing the full-time team together (recent locations include Kenya and Cape Town).

    About the role
The Director will join the Measurement & Impact (M&I) team. Our team is multidisciplinary, and our approach is pluralist: we combine evaluation and evidence synthesis with quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods; impact and economic modelling; and theory-based approaches, tailoring them to the context rather than defaulting to a single doctrine. Our work is adaptive, evidence-led, and grounded in practical decision-use. We aim to bring rigour without rigidity, challenging conventional MEL approaches when they limit insight or compromise our values.

Our M&I services span strategy, implementation support, evidence synthesis, evaluation, and learning across a wide range of digital economy, livelihoods, financial inclusion, and climate programs.

We are looking for a Director who can manage a portfolio of projects and teams while also engaging directly in delivery when necessary. You will also work with colleagues across our service areas, Funds & Programs and Research & Insights, to help design and implement measurement and impact services.

    Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities for this engagement include, but are not limited to, the following. The balance will vary depending on the project mix, but this includes both delivery and oversight, and will be reviewed and adjusted with support from the Senior Director for M&I on an ongoing basis.

    Project leadership and delivery

    • Lead M&I projects from initial scoping through to final outputs.
    • Steward the client relationships across your portfolio, owning some directly and working through the team on others, including shaping commercial and technical scopes, managing expectations, and cultivating the next engagement..
    • Anticipate risks across your portfolio and resolve them before they become problems.
    • Oversee project staffing and resource planning in coordination with the M&I team leadership and other Project Leads.
    • Own commercial health for your portfolio of projects, balancing quality, margin, and mission.
    • Step into hands-on delivery when needed, for strategic, M&I-led projects. For example, selecting and applying fit-for-purpose methods and approaches aligned with Caribou’s M&I practice principles, facilitating learning or sensemaking processes, synthesising evidence, developing frameworks or models, producing insights or communication outputs, or strengthening measurement systems.
    • Ensure strong technical and editorial quality assurance across all work products.

    Team leadership

    • Manage and support M&I team members across your portfolio, providing day-to-day guidance, structured support, and feedback.
    • Monitor team health closely and intervene early if any issues arise.
    • Identify team strengths and gaps, and inform recruitment and staffing decisions.
    • Foster a team culture aligned with Caribou’s values, and provide coaching and technical support on Caribou’s M&I approaches, tools, and ways of working.

    Practice strengthening

    • Support the Senior Director in developing the M&I practice, raising the standard the team works to beyond your own projects.
    • Develop practice assets such as briefs, methodological notes, and insights products, updating service standards, guidance, and tools.
    • Identify opportunities to test or refine new measurement approaches within ongoing projects.

    Business development

    • Represent and speak on behalf of Caribou and its supported projects in external forums (including online), networks, and partnerships.
    • Strengthen relationships with clients and find ways to deepen or expand collaborations.
    • Lead or support relevant business development efforts, including complex or high-stakes bids and win strategy, alongside proposal writing, lead generation, promotion, and thought leadership articles.

    About you

    Required Skills & Experience

    • You are an experienced measurement and impact practitioner, comfortable working across disciplines, methods, and evidence types. You do not adhere to a single methodological identity, though you have your own strengths. You are fluent across qualitative, quantitative, participatory, and analytical approaches, enabling you to interrogate a design and choose what fits, without needing to be the deepest specialist in any one. You are adaptive, context-led, and attentive to how findings will be used.
    • You think and work like a consultant, with the commercial instinct that comes with it. You have built direct trust with clients, converted leads, won proposals, and taken responsibility for delivering work well and profitably. You are comfortable with the ambiguity and pace of client work, read a room and a relationship well, and keep sight of where the next engagement might come from without losing focus on the one in front of you.
    • You are hands-on and quick to act. You are as ready to build the work as to direct it; you take real satisfaction in doing it well, and you keep things moving, shifting easily between strategy and delivery as the work needs.
    • You combine strong analytical skills with excellent communication. You frame insights clearly, craft compelling narratives, and use visuals to bring evidence to life, caring as much about how findings are understood as about how they are produced.
    • You lead teams with clarity. You build trust quickly, create the conditions for others to deliver, and know when to step in and when to back your people to lead. You work well in distributed teams, communicate proactively across time zones, and bring sensitivity, humility, and an awareness of power dynamics to your work with others.
    • You value learning, both your own and others’. You are curious about new approaches, methods, and tools, open to feedback, and able to work within a shared practice. You respect the need for consistency and standards in client-facing work while contributing ideas that strengthen our teams and practice.

    Essential experience

    • 12+ years across measurement, evaluation, learning, or adjacent fields, within international development or impact-oriented work.
    • A track record running a portfolio of client engagements end-to-end, from scoping through delivery, at pace, owning the client relationships, technical quality and the commercial health of the work.
    • A track record of winning work: shaping opportunities, converting leads, and leading proposals to a successful close.
    • A background in consulting, or a comparable client-facing, delivery-accountable environment, comfortable with ambiguity and pace.
    • 5+ years leading and developing teams, creating the conditions for others to thrive, across remote or multi-country contexts.
    • Comfort putting new technology to work, including AI and automation, with a self-directed, experimental approach.

    Preferred experience

    • Fluency across diverse methods (qualitative, quantitative, participatory, analytical), enough to select, adapt, and interrogate approaches without being the deepest specialist in any one.
    • Experience representing organisations externally through speaking, writing, or facilitation, or the appetite to grow into it.
    • Familiarity with sectors relevant to Caribou’s work, such as digital financial services, MSME growth, digital transformation, climate and clean energy, agri-food systems, or workforce development.

    What We Offer

    • Genuine thought partnership with some of the sharpest minds in the sector. You will be surrounded by deeply knowledgeable, curious colleagues who are genuinely excited to engage on the questions you care about
    • A culture that keeps you sharp. We push and challenge each other, ask the questions that matter, and hold a high bar — then commit together. And we do it with care: it is genuinely safe to raise tensions, admit what you don’t yet know, and disagree well. Everyday Integrity, Committed to Better, Thoughtful Connections, and Purposeful Inquiry are lived values here, not posters on a wall.
    • Autonomy and flexibility by design. Fully remote and flexible about where, how, and when you work,  with our annual in-person retreat and other moments to connect as a team.
    • A mission that matters. Meaningful work at the intersection of technology, inclusion, and impact, alongside a global, values-driven team that cares as much about how we show up as what we deliver.
