    About Emergent Fund

Movements have long relied on creative collective responses to crises and catalytic moments as strategic opportunities to advance visionary organizing. Emergent Fund and Emergent Action Fund are movement rapid response funds led by and for organizers with intersectional, collective liberation values. As a nationally recognized philanthropy culture disruptor and praxis leader, Emergent Fund challenges power in who we fund as well as with how we fund. We serve as one of the few open, accessible trust-based, no strings attached grants for rapid response and emergent organizing led by frontline Black, Indigenous, and people of color. All our grantmaking is driven by the leadership of directly impacted communities who are committed to building movement and transforming sociopolitical catalysts into lasting social change. Our model demonstrates that people-powered philanthropy can move at the speed of trust and at a pace that meets movements’ needs.

The need to build capacity for our work is clear. In the almost 10 years since our inception, the Emergent Fund has mobilized almost $20 Million directly into the hands of frontline organizers and thousands of movement organizations across the US and its colonized territories. The Movement Building Team is now in critical need of support and partnership to execute their vision for movement-aligned grantmaking and movement building.

    Description

    About the Role

Intersectional Innovations Consulting is seeking an Outreach and Communications Coordinator to lead our visibility, engagement, and relationship-building across digital platforms and community networks. You’ll own our content and social strategy, manage newsletters and client communications, support events and campaigns, and help make sure every touchpoint reflects our voice: warm, thoughtful, restorative, bold, and grounded in equity and justice.

This is a great fit for someone who sees communications as relationship-building, not broadcasting — who’d rather craft an invitation into a conversation than push out an announcement. Please note: this is a part-time role, capped at 5–10 hours per week.

    What You’ll Own

    • Content & social strategy — draft, edit, schedule, and publish LinkedIn and social content (Instagram as needed); maintain a consistent, values-driven presence
    • Editorial calendar — the central source of truth for what’s being published, when, and where
    • Newsletters & client letters — draft and distribute announcements, event invitations, and follow-ups on a regular cadence
    • Website updates — keep pages, resources, and announcements current
    • Event & campaign communications — promotional copy, graphics, reminders, and post-event follow-up across channels
    • Design — flyers, social graphics, and promotional assets in Canva
    • Analytics — review engagement and performance data to inform strategy, not just report on it
    • Outreach — build and maintain relationships with partners, clients, speakers, and collaborators
    • Research — surface timely articles, reports, and conversations relevant to our community

    What a Week Looks Like

Daily check-ins across email, LinkedIn, and Instagram messages; regular LinkedIn scheduling; following up on open action items with the team; tracking upcoming events and deadlines; ongoing podcast and speaking-opportunity outreach. Weekly reviews of the editorial calendar and priorities. Monthly planning 4–6 weeks out, engagement review, and content gap analysis.

You Might Be a Good Fit If You

    • Write clearly and warmly, and can adapt tone while staying true to a consistent voice
    • Have hands-on experience with LinkedIn content/scheduling, Canva, and website content management (Wix)
    • Are comfortable owning a content calendar and keeping multiple communications moving at once without close supervision
    • Have an interest or background in social impact, DEI, or restorative/community-centered work
    • Are detail-oriented and reliable with deadlines — especially around client-facing communications
    • Enjoy relationship-building as much as content creation

    Tools You’ll Use

  • Impact Modeling Analyst

    About GitLab Foundation

The GitLab Foundation is committed to helping people grow their lifetime earnings through education, training, access to employment, and systems change across workforce, employer, and policy ecosystems on a global scale. Our North Star is to maximize increases in lifetime earnings for every dollar we invest, with an ambitious target of generating over $100 in lifetime earnings gains for every dollar spent. We focus on supporting individuals earning below a living wage, enabling meaningful, sustained improvements in their lives. Our vision is a world in which one million more people can afford a better life.

In addition to high-impact grantmaking and systems change, the GitLab Foundation extends its impact through advisory services that support peer foundations in impact modeling and measurement, and through donor engagement efforts that mobilize additional values-aligned capital. Together, this work allows us to amplify our influence beyond direct grantmaking and contribute to stronger, more effective approaches to economic mobility across the sector.

The GitLab Foundation is an independent private foundation affiliated with GitLab Inc. We currently operate in Kenya, Colombia, and the United States, partnering with organizations that share our commitment to expanding opportunity at scale. You can learn more about the GitLab Foundation by visiting our website and reviewing our public Handbook.

    The Team

The GitLab Foundation is a high-performing, fully remote team that moves quickly, values curiosity, and is deeply results-oriented. We bring together diverse experience across philanthropy, nonprofit leadership, the private sector, and research-leveraging that range of perspectives to act with rigor, empathy, and strategic clarity.

Our culture is grounded in our CREDIT values and shaped by respect, humility, open debate, and a strong bias for action. This is a hands-on environment where priorities evolve, decisions move quickly, and team members are expected to take initiative without waiting for perfect clarity. We hold ourselves to high standards, operate with transparency and ownership, and are comfortable navigating ambiguity as we iterate, learn, and improve. Above all, we are united by a shared commitment to delivering meaningful, measurable impact in the lives of those we serve.

    The Role

The Impact Modeling Analyst will be a member of the Impact Insights team, supporting the Director of Impact in advancing one of the GitLab Foundation’s most critical capabilities: using rigorous quantitative analysis to understand, forecast, and maximize the impact of our investments. Impact modeling is central to how the Foundation makes decisions-informing which opportunities we pursue, how we allocate capital, and how we assess whether our grantmaking and advisory work is delivering meaningful economic outcomes.

The Analyst will primarily focus on building, maintaining, and improving return-on-investment (ROI) and impact forecasting models that inform grantmaking decisions, portfolio strategy, and advisory engagements. Working under the guidance of the Director, the Analyst will analyze data from grantees, external research, and partner organizations to strengthen the Foundation’s ability to estimate expected outcomes, assess realized results, and continuously improve how we measure impact.

This role is primarily analytical and modeling-focused, with responsibility for conducting data analysis, maintaining modeling datasets, and translating modeling outputs into clear visualizations, summaries, and actionable insights. The Analyst will also help advance the Foundation’s modeling capabilities by exploring and applying emerging approaches, including Al-enabled tools and techniques, and staying current on developments in economics, data science, and technology that can strengthen our work.

As part of the Impact Insights team, the Analyst will contribute to a cutting-edge approach to impact measurement and learning that is fundamental to the Foundation’s strategy and ambition to maximize economic impact. The Analyst will report to the Director of Impact.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Refine modeling assumptions, methodologies, and counterfactuals based on investment outcomes, new data, research findings, and organizational learning.
    • Conduct scenario analyses and sensitivity testing to understand potential variation in outcomes, test key assumptions, and inform investment prioritization and decision-making.

    Data Analysis and Insights

    • Analyze data from grantees, research studies, external datasets, and partner organizations to support modeling, measurement, and evaluation.
    • Develop user-friendly and audience-specific charts, tables, and visualizations that translate modeling and evaluation results into clear insights for grantmaking, portfolio strategy, and advisory engagements.

    • Support the development and maintenance of public-facing impact dashboards and visualizations.

    • Perform quality checks on datasets, models, and analytical outputs to ensure accuracy, reliability, and reproducibility.
    • Support efforts to standardize data inputs, definitions, and reporting across grantees, research sources, and investments.
    • Support the development and refinement of systems, processes, and measurement approaches for different types of investments, including direct service, innovation, scaling, and systems-level grants.
    • Support the continued development of the Foundation’s impact measurement framework, incorporating appropriate quantitative and qualitative methods and emerging best practices.
    • Leverage Al and state-of-the-art analytical tools and techniques to improve the efficiency, quality, and sophistication of data management, modeling, analysis, and impact measurement.
    • Explore, test, and responsibly adopt emerging technologies and methodologies that can strengthen the Foundation’s analytical capabilities and keep its approach at the forefront of impact modeling and measurement.
    • Assist in implementing, testing, troubleshooting, and continuously improving the tools and systems used to collect, manage, analyze, and report impact data.
    • Document modeling, measurement, data management, and analytical processes to support transparency, consistency, and reproducibility.

    About GitLab Foundation

The GitLab Foundation exists to help more people afford a better life. We focus on increasing lifetime earnings for individuals earning below a living wage by identifying, funding, and scaling the most effective pathways to economic mobility. Our North Star is to maximize lifetime earnings gains for every dollar deployed, with an ambitious goal of generating more than $100 in lifetime earnings gains for every $1 invested.

We are evolving beyond a traditional grantmaking foundation into a platform for high-impact philanthropy. In addition to deploying our own capital, we work with donors, foundations, and partners to direct more resources toward evidence-backed solutions that create measurable improvements in people’s lives. Our work spans four complementary areas: high-impact grantmaking, collaborative capital vehicles that mobilize funding at scale, advisory services that help donors and foundations maximize their impact, and knowledge and intelligence products that enable better philanthropic decision-making.

At the core of our approach is a commitment to rigor, transparency, and measurable results. We combine impact modeling, data, research, technology, and practical implementation experience to identify opportunities that can deliver outsized social returns—and help others do the same.
