Job Description

We are not just dreaming of a better BRAC is looking for a dynamic Program Officer to join the Bangladesh America Maitree Project, a five-year USAID-backed initiative launched in October 2023. This project drives inclusive, sustainable development by empowering local organizations through grants and capacity building.
Job Purpose
As the Program Officer, you’ll be assisting in managing communication, scheduling, and coordination across teams and stakeholders. You’ll work closely with key leaders, including the Chief of Party, to ensure smooth operations and effective partnerships.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support by managing calendars, scheduling appointments, preparing agendas, and organizing meeting logistics to ensure smooth project operations.
- Draft and manage documents such as letters, memos, and reports in English, following USAID and BRAC standards to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Maintain organized documentation systems by tracking files and records for easy access and efficient retrieval of information.
- Coordinate outreach activities by scheduling virtual meetings, distributing publications, and updating contact lists to strengthen stakeholder engagement.
- Organize meetings and events by preparing agendas, taking minutes, and following up on action items to support senior management and governing boards.
- Support project management by tracking progress, coordinating teams, and ensuring compliance with work plans and deadlines to meet project goals.
- Handle confidential information with discretion, ensuring privacy and compliance with company policies.
- Assist in special initiatives by managing specific projects and providing timely updates to executives, ensuring project success.
SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme’s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
- Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
- Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
Additional Job Requirements
- Proficiency in office administration and secretarial practices, ensuring efficient daily operations.
- Strong understanding of operational environments and ability to manage multiple priorities independently, ensuring effective adaptation, decision-making, and productivity under pressure.
- Expertise in MS Office Suite and Google applications, ensuring seamless digital communication and task management.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, fostering collaboration across different teams and staff levels.
Educational Requirements
Minimum graduate degree preferably in Business Administration, International Development, Management, or related field.
Experience Requirements
Minimum of 03 (three) years of experience in a project support role or similar position.
