Communications Intern

Open Position: Communications Intern
We have an opening for a 6-month internship within our Communications team to support communications of the Flying LabsNetwork. Working closely with the WeRobotics communications team and the community coordination team, the role will support the Flying Labs Network’s content creation, storytelling, and digital communications efforts.
Location: Remote (from and based within the geographies of the Network: Africa, Latin America, Caribbean, Asia-Pacific).
Start date: Immediately
Duration: 6 months (with the possibility of transitioning to a junior position depending on organisational needs and the internship experience)
Compensation: This is a paid internship
Key Competencies
- Academic background in Creative Writing, Communications, Media, Journalism, or Digital Marketing
- Strong written communication and storytelling abilities
- Experience managing blogs, websites, email newsletters, and social media scheduling tools
- Native or proficient in English, preferably with either French or Spanish as a strong second language
- Highly organized, proactive, open to take on responsibilities, and able to work independently in a remote environment
- Proficiency with online collaboration tools such as G-Suite, Slack, and Monday
- Loves working with people from diverse places and cultures, and possesses cross-cultural communication skills
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, review, edit, and timely publish blog posts submitted by Flying Labs, ensuring submitted content meets editorial, formatting, and quality standards before publication. Ensure Flying Labs are notified when new blog posts are published.
- Write and publish blog posts announcing the launch of new Flying Labs joining the Network and communicating the departure or transition of those leaving the Network.
- Support the Flying Labs Community Coordinators with editing and improving use cases and story maps.
- Support Flying Labs who require assistance developing, writing, or refining blog posts.
- Compile Flying Labs blog posts, use cases, and story maps for the monthly Flying Labs Network external email newsletter.
- Adapt blog content on the Flying Labs Network website into engaging social media posts for Flying Labs Network channels
- Support the implementation of projects with other teams, depending on the intern’s interests and skills
- Publish blog posts on specific Flying Labs webinars
