Overview

Oversee the development and sustainability of regular reports requested, externally or internally.

 

Responsibilities

â– Ensure the capturing, collection, and storing of the data meets the regulatory framework

â– Develop a detailed understanding of the information required by external and internal stakeholders to ensure the delivery of pertinent, accurate information to support healthcare policy decisions

■Develop, implement, and maintain all data systems and SOP’s for the NSS

â– Improve the accuracy of data in the National Surveillance System (NSS) by working with IT specialists to resolve any data quality problems that are identified

â– Profile data and design and validate reports which support the information requirements of internal and external stakeholders

â– Provide support to the National Surveillance System.

â– Comply with any reasonable and lawful instruction issued by the manager.

â– Develops, implements, and assesses tools for deduplication data sets.

Required Qualifications

â– Degree (NQF 7) in Biological Sciences/Public Health/ Epidemiology/ IT/ Computer Science/ Business Management

â– Five (5) years working in IT, specifically relational databases, business intelligence, data warehousing, and analysis

â– Three (3) years knowledge of structured query language and use of data query tools

â– Experience in the health sector environment (highly advantageous)

â– Knowledge of spatial (GIS) reporting (Desirable)

â– Knowledge of data quality management practices

â– Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

â– Analytical skills

â– Problem-Solving skills

â– Attention to detail

â– Self-motivated

â– Ability to work

â– Time Management skills independently
