Women Deliver

Women Deliver is a global feminist advocacy organization with a clear mission: to ensure that every self-identifying girl and woman can exercise full control over her body and life. We believe sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) are the cornerstone of bodily autonomy and have convened gender equality advocates from all levels of power for almost two decades to advance this cause. While we are best known for our convening power, our expertise extends beyond the Women Deliver Conferences to global advocacy for gender equality. Specifically, we have extensive experience in navigating and leveraging global spaces; in equitable youth engagement and co-leadership, including resourcing young people working for change in their communities, countries, and region; and in supporting and strengthening coalitions and collective movements.

Women Deliver recognizes that our sector and work is deeply embedded with and tainted by colonial and racist power structures, ideals, and practices, and that we, ourselves, have benefited from and perpetuated these practices. We are steadfast in our commitment to shaping a future where our work not only reflects our feminist and anti-racist values, but also actively contributes to dismantling the systems that oppress girls and women.

Women Deliver’s Approach to Climate Justice

The climate crisis is not gender neutral. It disproportionately affects those who have contributed the least to it, whether at the macro-level (States who contribute the least to the climate crisis are those who carry a disproportionate burden in terms of impact) or at the micro (intra-household) level, where it particularly impacts adolescent girls, women, gender-diverse people, and marginalized groups. These groups span a wide range of identities, including gender, ethnicity, age, socioeconomic status, and disability status, among others, as systemic oppression and intersectional discrimination exacerbate the effects of the climate crisis. Adolescent girls in particular, because of gender and age norms, are made to shoulder a greater burden of reproductive labor in contexts of climate emergencies, with dire consequences for their opportunities and prospects and for the full realization of their rights to education, health and sexual and reproductive health. Yet the current narratives about the climate crisis do not recognize this disproportionate impact of the climate crisis on people based on their age, gender, or other identities.

Women Deliver seeks to transform these narratives to a narrative that centers the human rights, including the sexual and reproductive health and rights, of girls, women, and gender-diverse people in all aspects of policy, programs, and research related to the climate crisis. Our advocacy strategy emphasizes accountability and reparations; addressing root causes, systems and structures leading to human rights violations; and centers the full, equal, meaningful and effective participation of women and girls in all initiatives, laws, practices and programmes that pertain to them. With UNFCCC accreditation, Women Deliver leverages COP and other relevant global climate advocacy spaces to advance this strategy, and is currently building a campaign from COP30 to Women Deliver Conference 2026 (WD2026) to COP31 that demands global action on the climate crisis for girls, women, and gender-diverse people.

Summary of the Position:

The Senior Manager, Multilateral Engagement, leads Women Deliver’s Climate Justice portfolio, including its implementation and any future revisions needed to ensure the strategy is relevant and response to the current needs of girls and women in the evolving climate crisis.
