Job Description

Position: Project Officer
Project: Scholarship Success Initiative
Location: On-site (Nyumanzi Refugee Settlement)

Application Deadline: 3rd November, 2024

Reports to: Director of Operations

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and implement activities for the Scholarship Success Initiative
  • Identify, interview and schedule workshop experts/trainers
  • Facilitate workshops, training, and awareness sessions on educational opportunities
  • Monitor and evaluate project activities, ensuring timely reporting.
  • Build strong partnerships with community stakeholders, educational institutions, and donors
  • Maintain accurate records, documenting the progress and success of the initiative
  • Write weekly/bi-weekly progress reports and media articles

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum qualification is a diploma in Social Work, Community Development, Education, or related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in project management, community development, sponsorship coordination or related field.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision independently and in a diverse team
  • Experience working with youth in refugee or community settings is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in English and at least one local language(s) spoken in Nyumanzi settlement
