Overview

RTI International seeks a prospect for the Project Administration Internship within the International Development Group (IDG).

 

Funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Cambodia, the Integrated Early Childhood Development Activity (IECD) operates in Kampong Thom and Preah Vihear Provinces to (1) advance the physical, cognitive, linguistic and social-emotional development of young children; (2) decrease stunting rates for children under the age of five among the target population; and (3) enable appropriate care for children with developmental delays and disabilities. Led by Research Triangle Institute (RTI) and its partners (Helen Keller International and Safe Haven), IECD supports the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC) efforts to promote nurturing care and improve nutrition for all children, including the most vulnerable, starting from before birth. IECD period of performance is 2020-2025. IECD also works to strengthen nutrition service delivery in health facilities and in communities; supports nutrition-sensitive agriculture and improved livelihoods; improves water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) practices among caregivers; facilitates screening and access to services for children who may have developmental delays and disabilities; and promotes responsive caregiving to help children meet critical developmental milestones. The focus of IECD is on children under age five and their caregivers, with emphasis on the first 1,000 days of life.

 

The intern will be under guidance of Human Resource and Administrative Officer, gaining administration and reception roles experience for the project. They will learn administrative and logistic work for the project operations and activities. The intern is based in Phnom Penh.

 

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn and contribute to all administrative assistant role within project.
  • Gain experience in administration work for USAID project.

Responsibilities

  • Assist for greeting and providing administrative support services for all guests who visit IECD’s office.
  • Support logistical work for all trainings/workshops/project events in Phnom Penh.
  • Support preparation of logistics materials for all trainings/workshops/project events in the field.
  • Participate in managing and coordinating out-going and incoming mail.
  • Contribute to meeting room schedule and preparation.
  • Learn and contribute to maintain office supplies and material inventory.
  • Learn and contribute to filing at Phnom Penh office.

Additional Information

 

This hybrid academic credit with stipend internship will take place from October 2024 through March 2025. The internship requires a minimum commitment of 40 hours per week. Hours are flexible during business hours, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a local resident of Cambodia.
  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Must be eligible to receive academic course credit or fulfill an academic program requirement (documentation required).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic understanding of administrative role.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, in English and Khmer and teamwork skills.
