Position Overview

The Program Coordinator, is a key member of our Fora team. They must be deeply committed to thevision outlined in Fora’s Strategic Plan. They should be eager to play a significant role in our efforts topromote the full participation of young women and gender- marginalized youth in decision-making spaces,and to challenge the status quo.

The Program Coordinator will oversee the day-to-day operations of Fora’s programs. The individual will work closely with the programs team, as well as other staff members to deliver programming that isefficient, empathetic, and of excellent quality.

Through Rise on Boards, we work to build more equitable and inclusive boardrooms. Since 2017, Fora’s Riseon Boards program (formerly Girls on Boards) has trained and placed 235 emerging leaders from a range ofbackgrounds and experiences at the board table for the first time. Prior to their board appointment, YoungDirectors receive in-depth training in governance and leadership from expert facilitators and are supportedby a board mentor and volunteer coach throughout their one-year board placement.

Through the Global Impact Fund, we provide training and access to a microgrant for change leaders to designand implement social impact initiatives in their local communities.

The Program Coordinator’s responsibilities include:

Program Coordination (90%)

  • Coordinate the day-to-day logistics and delivery of all programs;
  • Serve as the first point of contact to troubleshoot issues as they arrive, whether logistical orinterpersonal in nature;
  • Organize and coordinate outreach and recruitment campaigns for the 2026 program;
  • Provide logistical support to program participants, as needed;
  • Bring excellent logistical processes and attention to detail when taking the lead or support role inplanning Fora programs and events;
  • Coordinate travel and logistics for stakeholders, as needed;
  • Serve as the liaison between Fora and participants;
  • Coordinate with volunteers to support events and mini projects as they arise;
  • Research, write, and design program documents, such as policy documents and slide decks;
  • Develop and ensure smooth processes that support all programs to run efficiently and ensure allmoving parts work together seamlessly;
  • Coordinate with national and global participants across time zones and diverse culture;
  • Provide high-quality user experience for online learners using Fora’s Learning ManagementSystem;
  • Use Microsoft Office, Salesforce, Notion and other project management tools to maintain clear andorganized documentation and data management; and
  • Work with the program manager to develop and execute annual and monthly workplans.

Organizational Support (10%):

  • Assist in the preparation of reports, proposals, presentations, and other documents for the Programsteam and Communications, Development, and Operations teams;
  • Assist in the coordination of external communications including working with the Communications team to develop program specific social media content or to contribute to newsletter content;
  • Contribute strategically to programs by recording and reporting on learnings, best practices, andrecommended iterations;
  • Contribute to the organizational annual and monthly workplans and strategic plan;
  • Perform other duties as required.

Work Requirements

  • Must be legally able to work in Canada.
  • Must reside in Canada for the duration of the contract
  • Ability to work remotely with dedicated at-home office space.
  • Ability to work flexible hours on occasions – support workshops in the evening and on weekends.

  • 1-2 years in a relevant employment and/or in a relevant volunteer role;
  • Ease fostering relationships with non-profit communities;
  • Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders and the many moving parts of a project;
  • Comfort with social media and digital technologies (assets including experience working with data management systems, customer relationship management systems, learning management systems);
  • Excellent writing skills;
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to working efficiently;
  • Experience in public speaking and group facilitation.

Education & Certifications

  • Post-secondary degree or Certificate in Community Development, International Development,Human Services, Gender Studies (or in a relevant field) is an asset, but not essential.
  • A combination of lived experience and non-academic credentials is also valued

Knowledge & Experience:

  • An understanding and passion for youth advocacy and/or gender equity fields is an asset.
  • Sensitivity working with women and gender-marginalized youth (ages 18-29) from a diversity of communities.
  • Demonstrated experience of 1+ years in developing, implementing, and evaluating programs is required.
  • Demonstrated ability of 1+ years in fostering sound relationships with organizational stakeholders.
  • Excellent professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and stay self-motivated.
  • Proven experience in multitasking, prioritizing high volumes of work, and meeting deadlines.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to track and document progress across multiple important priorities.
  • Strong operational, analytical, communication, interpersonal, and presentation competencies.
  • Experience working on or with a board of directors is an asset.
  • Strong command of English and French language.
