Indigenous Climate Action (ICA) is looking for someone who is ambitious, personable and passionately committed to true Indigenous Climate Justice to serve as its Operations Coordinator. This position requires a deep understanding of the intersectional approaches of climate justice and Indigenous rights and its application to the internal operations of the organization.
This is a remote, work from home, online position with priority given to Indigenous people who live in so-called Canada.

POSITION SUMMARY
Indigenous Climate Action is seeking an highly organized and technologically proficient individual to fill the role of theOperations Coordinator. The Operations Coordinator will support and assist with operational and technical duties, including coordination of staff and administrative and logistical processes.
The Operations Coordinator reports to the Operations Manager.
The position requires demonstrated competency in the following areas:
- Interpersonal skills to demonstrate warmth and support internal staff
- Proficiency in CRM systems, website management, and project management tools.
- Strong understanding of data management principles, with experience in platforms like BambooHR, Monday.com, and Google Workspace.
- Familiarity with Squarespace and other website platforms
- Experience with password management tools like Bitwarden and document management tools like Adobe Acrobat and Docusign.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and develop practical solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Comfortable working independently and remotely.
- Knowledge of climate justice, anti-oppression practices, or Indigenous lived experiences.
- Experience with SEO, Google Analytics, and project management would be an asset.

The Operations Coordinator duties are as follows:
Operations and Information Technology (60%)
- Facilitate access and utilization of all technology platforms, including password management, staff coordination, and training on platforms.
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure proper management of communication platforms, such as social media and Zoom meetings/webinars as needed.
- Responsible for maintaining and managing the organization’s remote Internet server, ensuring optimal performance, security, and accessibility for all remote employees
- Collaborate with other teams as requested to implement or maintain current or new softwares, programs etc., as needed
- Research and implement platform solutions to address organizational needs, policies, and processes.
- Analyze and improve gaps in existing systems, particularly in platforms like BambooHR, Monday.com, and Google Workspace.
- Assist in troubleshooting technical issues and developing solutions within ICA platforms and systems, including technology audits as needed
- Assist with development of new website and related processes in relation to website maintenance, in collaboration with website contractor
- Develop and maintain filing and information systems to enhance team productivity and collaboration, mainly in Google Drive and HRIS.
- Assist in the integration and maintenance of new software solutions, including CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems and website administration.
- Lead in digital security management (e.g. password management, security alerts
Team Support (25%)
- Review and manage important inquiries from designated email inboxes.
- Provide logistical support to the Operations Manager for travel arrangements and event logistics.
- Support strategic partnerships between Pods and facilitate collaboration efforts.
- Assist in note-taking and digital filing as required, ensuring efficient documentation practices.
- Address emerging team needs and contribute to overall operational effectiveness.
- Lead in technical onboarding of new staff
- Support other Pods with shipping logistics such as Canada Post and Purolator
HR and Organizational Development Support (15%)
- Coordinate training programs for staff, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Participate in hiring processes and contribute to employee development initiatives.
- Support organizational development endeavors and strategic administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- 2 – 3 years of operational skills or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated ability to support a team
- Post Secondary education an asset
- Ability to take direction and work independently with little or no supervision
- Ability to travel
- Member of an Indigenous community and fluency in an Indigenous language an asset
- Having a working computer and strong internet access is essential for this position
- Experience or training in operational budgeting an asset
The position is full time and entails a 30-35 hours work week. However, some travel and evening/weekend hours may be required. The successful candidate must be willing to be flexible and work hours required to meet ICA expectations. A Criminal Record Check along with Child and Adult Abuse Registry checks may be required conditions of employment. ICA can assist with this process if need be.
SALARY: $55,000 to $68,000 annual salary depending on qualifications
