Data-Pop Alliance is looking for a Fundraising Intern. We are an international nonprofit created in 2013 out of the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative (HHI), the MIT Media Lab and ODI. We bring together researchers, experts, practitioners, and activists to change the world with data through three pillars of work: diagnosing local realities and human problems with data and AI; mobilizing capacities, communities, and ideas towards more data-literate societies; and transforming the systems and processes that underpin our societies and countries.
DPA has partnered with and received funding from organizations such as the Inter-American Development Bank, UNDP, FAO, UN ESCWA, GIZ (German development agency), the Vodafone Institute, Oxfam México and other key international stakeholders to develop projects in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA), Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), the Middle-East and North Africa (MENA), and Asia. DPA’s projects are managed and carried out by a core team of about 30 people, including Directors, Managers, Officers, Data Scientists, Research Assistants, and Interns.

Scope of Work
Reporting to the Fundraising Officer, the Development and Partnerships (Fundraising) Manager and the Managing Director, and will support through the following key responsibilities:

- Support the Fundraising Manager with fundraising and proposal management
- Map potential donors, sources of funding and potential partners
- Weekly or biweekly active checks of tender platforms, LinkedIn, and donor websites in search for new funding opportunities
- Support in all fundraising projects and the associated proposals, including but not limited to:

- Evaluate potential projects for fit with DPA team and values,
- Co-create and update individual Asana boards for each proposal, keeping each updated and in active use,
- Follow up with team members for contributions to proposal development,
- Research and leverage past proposal contents, where applicable, to future applications,
- Support the proposal writing, in consultation with PMs and other staff to determine the methodology, scope of work and others.
- Prepare CVs, admin docs, and other proposal preparation-related tasks
- Share regular updates with Directors and PMs to communicate proposal status.
- Support the development of new fundraising strategies, campaigns, templates, slide decks, among other fundraising products
- Support with organizational tasks of fundraising strategies, including but not limited to catalog past proposals, literature review of successful proposals, work on evaluation matrix and project framework template for proposals
- Attend and take notes of relevant meetings, webinars, events or any kind of content that will help the development of the fundraising strategy
- Support the delivery of the proposals, including submitting via email, platform, or other means.
Profile/Qualifications

- Recent graduate (or student in last semester of university) with a degree in Communications, International Relations, Business or other related fields.
- Strong interest in development, climate change, human rights, gender, social inequality, public policy, and related topics.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Spanish, and/or French competency is highly desirable.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the capacity to prioritize and manage information.
- Ability to work with people from different cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to multitask, while being proactive, analytical and organized.
- Knowledge of project budgeting and financial management is a plus.

- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Google applications (Google docs, sheets, presentations, forms).
- Comfortable with remote teams and processes.
Candidates should be able to work independently, manage their time wisely, and meet deadlines. They should be detail-focused, reliable, professional, and possess strong research, writing, editing, and analysis skills, as well as excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.
Remuneration
USD $500.00 / month
