Job Description

Reading Time: 5 minutes

Background: The Global Methane Hub (GMH) is the first coordinated philanthropic approach to methane mitigation funding. We support ambitious catalytic investments, lay the groundwork for the long-term transformation of challenging sectors, and deliver quick wins in sectors that are ripe for action on the ground. The Hub focuses on the energy, agricultural, and waste sectors which account for 96% of human-caused methane emissions.

Our actions are global in nature, but we believe quick wins will only be had if we engage sub-nationals and local communities. Our grantmaking focuses on the highest emitting sectors and regions with a team spread out over six continents and is headquartered in Santiago, Chile.

Description: Purpose of role

The Donor Engagement Associate will be an integral member of the Development & Impact team, reporting to the Director of Development & Impact and partnering with all GMH colleagues to support GMH’s fundraising efforts. Dedicated to cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship, this role is primarily focused on donor communications, including the development of mass periodic virtual reports, factsheets, presentation decks, newsletters and bespoke communications, and on supporting donor events.

The ideal candidate will be a strong storyteller with a donor communications background (with a focus on science-based initiatives), proven experience in philanthropy, experience working with foundations, and a passion for engaging donors to further the Hub’s mission. The ideal candidate will also be a strong project manager with experience managing external vendor relationships and partnering with colleagues across disciplines and functions.

  • Evaluate donor communications activities and events.
  • Coordinate donor recognition activities during events, ensuring that contributions are celebrated in line with organizational standards.
  • Assist in gathering feedback and analyzing event outcomes to inform future donor engagement strategies.

Project management functions

  • Oversee the project management of key development communications, ensuring that all reports, newsletters, and communications materials are completed accurately and on schedule.
