About Global Schools Forum

Global Schools Forum (GSF) is an international collaborative network, innovation accelerator, and partnership builder dedicated to improving education outcomes for underserved children in low- and middle-income countries.

Since its founding in 2017, GSF has grown into a thriving community of over 180 member organisationsacross more than 70 countries. Collectively, these members operate or support over 1.3 million schools and centres, reaching over 134 million children. Members include independent schools, cross-country school networks, and organisations providing essential services to non-state educational institutions.

GSF’s mission centres on strengthening education systems by enabling collaboration, evidence sharing, and innovation. Its work focuses on three core pillars: building a global learning community, testing and scaling promising educational approaches, and facilitating strategic partnerships for systemic impact.

Core Areas of Work

1. Building a Global Learning Community
GSF connects mission-aligned, non-state education organisations across Asia, Africa, and South America. It curates an annual programme of events, webinars, and communities of practice that promote collaboration and shared learning among education leaders. By codifying and disseminating knowledge, GSF supports members in addressing common challenges and amplifying their collective impact.

2. Testing and Scaling Promising Approaches
Through targeted funding and technical support, GSF empowers education innovators to develop, test, and scale effective solutions. The organisation generates and shares rigorous evidence on “what works” in improving educational access, quality, and outcomes, as well as on what strengthens organisational effectiveness.

3. Partnership Building and Policy Engagement
GSF acts as a bridge between non-state education providers and global development actors. It fosters collaborations with governments, funders, and international agencies to integrate evidence-based innovations into education systems. By engaging in global policy processes, GSF amplifies its members’ voices and supports large-scale, sustainable change.
