Position Overview
The Community Engagement Coordinator is a key member of the Fora team. They must be deeply committedto the vision outlined in Fora’s Strategic Plan. They should be eager to play a significant role in our efforts topromote the full participation of young women and gender-marginalized youth in decision-making spaces,and to challenge the status quo.
The Community Engagement Coordinator will oversee event coordination and strengthen our community andvolunteer engagement. This position combines event planning expertise with community-building skills toconnect with the broader Fora community, reconnect to alumni, and strengthen volunteer coordination tocreate leadership growth opportunities and manage the logistics of Fora’s flagship events.

The Community Engagement Coordinator’s responsibilities include:
Event Coordination and Logistics (50%)
- Lead the planning and day-to-day logistics for the annual Leadership Forum (October), including venue management, catering, AV setup, and vendor coordination.
- Manage travel arrangements and accommodation for speakers, facilitators, and invited guests.
- Support the program team in shaping event themes, confirming speakers, and drafting event briefsand materials.
- Coordinate and host virtual events and quarterly masterclasses, ensuring smooth delivery and strongparticipant experience.
- Manage logistics and administrative support for in-person events and collaborations across Canada.
- Activate Fora’s volunteer engagement plan and coordinate volunteers to support programs, events,and mini projects as they arise;
Alumni and Community Engagement (30%)
- Strengthen and activate the alumni network by activating and implementing Fora’s
alumni engagement strategy.
- Plan and coordinate initiatives and events that foster connection and continued career andleadership growth.
- Identify and coordinate opportunities for Fora and alumni to participate in community events,conferences, and national engagement activities.
- Support communication and outreach strategies that nurture alumni relationships and highlightstories of impact across the network.
- Contribute creative ideas for improving Fora’s approach to alumni engagement, communityengagement, and event design.
Organizational Support (20%):
- Use Microsoft Office, Salesforce, Notion and other project management tools to maintain clear andorganized documentation and data management; and
- Work with the program manager to develop and execute annual and monthly workplans.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, proposals, presentations, and other documents for the Programsteam and Communications, Development, and Operations teams;
- Assist in the coordination of external communications including working with the Communicationsteam to develop event and community engagement-specific social media content or to contribute tonewsletter content;
- Contribute strategically to programs by recording and reporting on learnings, best practices, andrecommended iterations;
- Contribute to the organizational annual and monthly workplans and strategic plan;
- Perform other duties as required.
Education s Certifications
- Post-secondary degree or Certificate in Community Development, International Development,Human Services, Gender Studies (or in a relevant field) is an asset, but not essential.
- A combination of lived experience and non-academic credentials is also valued.
Knowledge s Experience:
- Demonstrated experience of 1+ years in community engagement practices, organizing andcoordinating virtual and in person events.
- Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders and the many moving parts of a project;
- An understanding and passion for youth advocacy and/or gender equity fields is an asset.
- Sensitivity working with women and gender-marginalized youth (ages 18-29) from a diversity of communities.
- Demonstrated ability of 1+ years in fostering sound relationships with organizational stakeholders.
- Excellent professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in public speaking and group facilitation.
- The ability to work independently and stay self-motivated.
- Proven experience in multitasking, prioritizing high volumes of work, and meeting deadlines.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to track and document progress across multiple important priorities.
- Strong operational, analytical, communication, interpersonal, and presentation competencies.
Language fluency
- Proficiency in English is essential; proficiency in French is an asset but not essential.

Work Requirements
- Must be legally able to work in Canada.
- Must reside in Toronto or the Greater Toronto Area for the duration of the contract.
- Ability to work remotely with dedicated at-home office space.
- Ability to work flexible hours on occasions – support events in the evening and on weekends (lieutime provided).
