  • Communications Coordinator

    Women Doing Well is seeking a skilled, strategic Communications Coordinator to serve as the content engine behind our voice across every channel. Reporting to our Senior Director of Operations, you’ll own the words that reach our audiences from email and social media to event invitations and internal updates, writing with clarity, strategy, and WDW’s distinct brand voice.

    Day to day, you’ll build and maintain a comprehensive communications calendar, write copy for social media, email campaigns, Ignite News, and audience-specific messaging for Facilitators, Patrons, and Partners, and brief our contract designer on marketing materials and event collateral. You’ll also monitor KPIs across email, social, and web engagement, bringing data-informed insights back to leadership, and support internal communications that keep our team aligned.

    We’re looking for an exceptional writer with at least three years of marketing and communications experience, a bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent experience), and a genuine understanding of the women WDW serves.

  • Consultant – Investment Readiness and Capital Mobilization

    Description

    The International Water Management Institute (IWMI), a CGIAR Research Center, is seeking an innovative and highly motivated Consultant – Investment to support the Water and Soil Accelerator (WASA) Agribusiness Catalyst.

    WASA is an initiative led by IWMI to accelerate the scaling of sustainable water and soil management solutions in rainfed agricultural systems across Zambia and Malawi. The program strengthens local institutions, builds implementation capacity, and promotes equitable access to resources for smallholder farmers—particularly women and youth—to improve food security, livelihoods, and climate resilience.

    The WASA Agribusiness Catalyst addresses market and financing barriers that limit the adoption of climate-smart agricultural innovations. It aims to accelerate five scalable agribusiness and partnership models (three in Zambia and two in Malawi) that:

    • Improve market access for climate-smart producers.
    • Enable last-mile delivery of proven water and soil management technologies.
    • Develop inclusive financing mechanisms, including working capital, guarantees, and insurance.
    • Mobilize private-sector co-investment.
    • Scale interventions to reach 50,000 farmers across 50,000 hectares.

    Objective of the Assignment

    The consultant will provide investment advisory and transaction support services to advance five selected agribusiness and partnership models to investment readiness and mobilize private-sector co-investment. The consultant will strengthen financial and commercial structuring, build institutional capacity to engage investors, and facilitate investment partnerships that support the scaling of climate-smart agricultural solutions.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    1. Inception Report and Workplan
      • Review agribusiness models, program documentation, and the broader WASA framework.
      • Engage with IWMI and stakeholders to refine the assignment approach.
      • Develop an inception report outlining methodology, investment-readiness criteria, investor selection criteria, co-investment attribution methodology, risks, assumptions, and implementation workplan.

    Requirements

    Educational Qualifications Required:

    • A Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Development Finance, Agricultural Economics, or a related field.
    • Professional certification in finance, investment, or a related discipline (e.g. CFA, ACCA, FMVA).

    Experience Required:

    • A minimum of 8 – 10 years of demonstrable experience in investment advisory, transaction structuring, blended or development finance, or private sector investment mobilization.
    • A proven track record of mobilizing private sector capital or co-investment, with verifiable results (ideally including deals of comparable scale to this assignment).
    • Demonstrated experience in structuring inclusive financing mechanisms, working capital facilities, guarantees, insurance, and first-loss or concessional instruments and matching instruments to specific enterprise and market contexts.
    • Prior experience working with agribusinesses, SMEs, or agricultural value chains, preferably in a climate-smart or sustainable resource management context.
    • Experience working in Zambia, Malawi, or comparable East and Southern African markets, with familiarity with regional investors and financial ecosystem.

  • Data Scientist, Energy/Air quality 

    The Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA) is looking for a data scientist to work on energy and air pollution. You will work closely with analysts and communications staff to transform complex datasets into timely, policy-relevant insights. Your work will combine quantitative analysis, data integration and visualization with investigative research to identify compelling findings on energy markets, fossil fuels, clean energy and air pollution.

    This is a hands-on analytical role for someone who enjoys working with diverse datasets, developing new analytical approaches, and responding quickly to emerging events with rigorous, evidence-based analysis.

    The role is a part of a new unit that CREA is starting to produce responsive insights and analysis, to address a critical gap in the clean energy community’s ability to respond to fast-moving developments in global energy markets. It will combine data and analysis with proactive strategic communications, producing timely insights that can inform political and economic decision-making as well as shape media coverage.

    The Unit will work to anticipate and prepare for opportunities to produce analysis, stories and commentary about how clean energy and electrification can strengthen energy security, affordability and economic resilience; and respond to events such as fossil fuel supply shocks, air pollution episodes, blackouts, extreme weather events, infrastructure failures and unexpected policy developments. 

    Over its initial 12-month pilot, the Unit will produce short, media-ready analysis; develop relationships with international, regional and financial journalists; and establish rapid response systems and tools that can be used by CREA and partners.

    Job Description

    Key responsibilities

    Conduct fast-paced quantitative analyses in response to pollution episodes, energy market developments and other policy-relevant events, identifying impactful and policy-relevant findings.

    Integrate, clean and analyse diverse proprietary, in-house and open datasets.

    Produce reproducible code, robust methodology documentation, and reusable datasets.

    Develop clear and effective data visualisations that communicate analytical insights.

    Support research by combining quantitative analysis with domain expertise and desk research.

    Develop new datasets, analytical tools and data products to strengthen CREA’s research capabilities.

    Work closely with colleagues to shape research questions and identify the most important analytical findings.

    Contribute to reports, briefings and other research outputs by ensuring analyses are robust, transparent and reproducible.

    The role works as part of the Insights unit, reporting to the Data Team Lead.

    Qualifications

    Essential

    Higher education or equivalent professional experience in data science, economics, engineering, statistics, computer science, energy systems or a related quantitative discipline.

    At least 3 years of experience analysing large and complex datasets in a research, consulting, public policy, or commercial environment.

    Demonstrated ability to produce clear, accurate, reproducible and robustly documented quantitative analyses, including using AI tools.

    Experience creating effective charts and data visualisations for technical and non-technical audiences.

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently on open-ended research questions.

    Strong programming skills in Python or R and at least basic knowledge of both.

    Basic command of version control (e.g. Git).

    Good written and spoken English.

    Desirable

  • Carbon Pricing Senior Officer

    INTRODUCTION TO GGGI

    The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is a treaty-based international, inter-governmental organization dedicated to supporting and promoting strong, inclusive and sustainable economic growth in developing countries and emerging economies. To learn more please visit about GGGI web page. 

    In October 2024, GGGI launched the Carbon Transaction Facility, a first-of-its-kind facility which offers a comprehensive solution to scaling up international carbon trading under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. Through the CTF, GGGI will extend its Article 6 activities through a collection of single and multi-donor funds aimed at increasing host country readiness and facilitating transactions of Internationally Transferred Mitigation Outcomes (ITMOs). The CTF aims to catalyze up to USD 500 million solely for ITMOs purchasing by 2030. The multi-donor fund, named the Article 6 Readiness Facility, will mobilize up to USD 50 million for readiness support activities to GGGI Member States and Partner Countries.

    The Article 6 Readiness Facility will mobilize up to USD 50 million for readiness support activities to GGGI Member States and Partner Countries. The readiness component will allow GGGI to more than double the scale of its support for capacity building, technical assistance, institutional strengthening and international knowledge exchange activities in its Member States and partner countries. At the same time a pipeline of potential mitigation activities for trading will also be developed.

    As part of this groundbreaking initiative, the Article 6 Readiness project to be implemented in Ethiopia will support the government to advance the country’s Article 6 requirements, frameworks and development of priority Mitigation Activity Idea Notes (MAINs), GGGI will work closely with the Government of Ethiopia to accelerate the operationalization of the country’s Carbon Market Framework.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Carbon Pricing Senior Officer will be based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and will lead the implementation of the Ethiopia Readiness project activities. The successful candidate will report to the GGGI Ethiopia Country Representative and Secondary line to the RD.  

    The Carbon Pricing Senior Officer will be the recognized focal point for the project in Ethiopia and will have overall responsibility for timely and high-quality project delivery. The position-holder will provide day-to-day technical and strategic guidance and management, as well as liaise externally to ensure impactful delivery of the project and its output.

    Experience in international carbon markets is strongly preferable, as the position-holder will be required to quickly absorb and apply sufficient technical knowledge on Article 6 concepts, requirements, frameworks and approaches to the local context in Ethiopia.

    PURPOSE
    • Lead the implementation of the Ethiopia Article 6 Readiness Project in close coordination with the GGGI Ethiopia Country Team (based in Addis Ababa), the Carbon Pricing Unit (based in Seoul) and relevant government and private sector project stakeholders.
    • Provide high-quality project management to the project, and ensure effective, timely and efficient delivery of project results and activities in the field.
    • Provide high-quality technical inputs and advisory on issues related to Article 6, carbon markets, and emissions reduction trading in support of Article 6 Readiness delivery in Ethiopia and GGGI’s Ethiopia portfolio and strategic priorities more generally.
    • Support government and private sector actors in strengthening regulatory frameworks, developing and advancing carbon initiatives that align with national and international commitments.
    ENGAGEMENT
    • Work closely with GGGI Carbon Pricing Unit and GGGI Ethiopia to understand the local context, including GGGI’s role in Ethiopia; to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of the project; and to develop technical knowledge of Article 6 requirements, frameworks and approaches.
    • Develop and foster strong relationships with key government stakeholders, leading the day-to-day communication, coordination and engagement to support effective collaboration and implementation of carbon related initiatives (supported by GGGI Ethiopia).
    • Work closely with government partners and private sector in implementing the project, recognizing and promoting the importance of government buy-in, ownership and sustained engagement throughout project implementation.
    • Coordinate with other organizations supporting engagement with international carbon markets in Ethiopia, and ensure visibility, and strategic position of the Ethiopia Article 6 Readiness Project and associated carbon market initiatives. Maintain strong and adaptive professional relationships with key stakeholders to effective capture evolving needs, manage expectations and support responsive project implementation
    DELIVERY
    • Lead the design of governance frameworks in Ethiopia that meet Article 6 requirements and are relevant to the Ethiopian institutional, policy and regulatory context
    • Deliver high quality project outputs on time and within budget that meet program objectives, donor requirements and government requirements.
    • Quickly absorb and apply sufficient technical knowledge on Article 6 concepts, requirements, frameworks and implementation approaches.
    • Ensure quality monitoring and evaluation, timely submission of high-quality donor reports and
    • deliverables, regularly evaluate project results, and guide project implementation to achieve maximum impact.
    • Assess effectiveness of project activities and recommend improvements to meet timely achievement key milestones and overall objectives of the project
    • Ensure that experiences and best practices are documented and shared across relevant sectors in Ethiopia and GGGI.
    • Plan and co-deliver capacity building events that introduce key Article 6 concepts and options to key government and other stakeholders.
    • Lead the identification of priority sectors and mitigation activities for Article 6, in collaboration with the Government of Ethiopia and private sector.
    • Develop Mitigation Activity Idea Notes (MAINs) for up to 3 mitigation activities.
    • Support bilateral engagement between Government of Ethiopia and potential cooperation partners.
    • Support the process of facilitating key agreements between government, private sector and other international partners.  
    • Lead the planning and facilitation of key project workshops and meetings with key stakeholders in Ethiopia
    • Plan and organize the work of consultants under the project to ensure high quality and timely delivery of the outputs.
    • Clear and timely reporting on project delivery as required by the Article 6 Readiness Facility Committee.
    REQUIREMENTS
    QUALIFICATIONS
    • A master’s degree in a relevant area, such as Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Environmental Engineering, or other related disciplines.
    • At least 8 years of experience in climate finance, green investment, or other relevant fields.
    • At least 2years of professional working experience, outside of home country.
    • A proven track in successfully managing projects linked to climate action and finance.
    • Understanding of and experience in international carbon markets, the Clean Development Mechanism, and/or Article 6 is a strong advantage.
    • Strong diplomacy, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively across government, private sector, development partners and community stakeholders

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    The Senior Officer is a G9 grade level in GGGI’s international salary scale, details of which can be found in the GGGI Staff Rules on GGGI’s website. In addition, GGGI provides 27 days of annual leave, flexible work arrangements and contribution towards private health insurance that covers dental and vision. The initial appointment is for 24 months, renewable subject to satisfactory performance and budget availability. GGGI Ethiopia has a Host Country Agreement (HCA) in place with the Government of Ethiopia and therefore international candidates will be covered by the Privileges and Immunities under the HCA.     The Opportunity.

    Verra seeks a Program Officer to actively engage stakeholders in adopting and using our Agricultural Land Management (ALM) and Livestock Systems (LS) methodologies under the VCS Program. This role focuses on developing and supporting project proponents’ practical application of improved ALM and LS activities, supporting development of new and revisions of existing methodologies, and creating alignment with emerging VCS Program updates and other Verra programs, such as the Scope 3 Standard Program, SD VISta and its Nature Framework.

    The Role.

    The successful applicant will be responsible for work that focuses on three key areas including the following tasks with a strong technical focus on ALM and LS and the use of innovative technologies for quantification and monitoring of reductions and removals, and implementation of digital MRV:

    Stakeholder support and capacity building for project proponents and VVBs (45%)

    • Responding to stakeholder questions about VCS ALM and LS methodologies including supporting the Market & Client Relations team 
    • Supporting development of informational resources, such as FAQs and instructional webinars, to explain how to use the ALM and LS methodologies and related modules and tools 
    • Presenting on webinars and to stakeholder groups to provide technical guidance on methodology use

    What We’re Looking For.

    • At least three years of experience in GHG accounting in agriculture and livestock production systems
    • A B.S. level degree in agronomy, animal, or environmental sciences, or similar, with a preference for M.S.
    • Strong understanding of soil carbon and GHG measurement, monitoring and modeling, remote sensing, and geo-statistics in the context of agricultural and livestock production systems

  • PROJECT MANAGER

    About the position

    Reporting to the Director, IM/IT and PM, the Project Manager leads the initiation, planning, development, execution, and closing of Museum projects, with a primary focus on capital projects. Working closely with senior leaders, project sponsors, and stakeholders from across the Museum, the Project Manager ensures projects are aligned with organizational priorities, delivered within approved budgets, and achieve their intended business outcomes.

    The Project Manager plans, coordinates, and directs the work of multidisciplinary teams throughout the full project lifecycle. This includes defining project scope, developing schedules and budgets, managing risks, overseeing procurement activities, coordinating contractors and consultants, facilitating stakeholder engagement, and ensuring project deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The Project Manager serves as the primary link between internal stakeholders, and external partners, enabling collaboration, informed decision-making, and successful project delivery.

    Operating within the Canadian Museum of Nature’s Project Management Office (PMO), the Project Manager contributes to the continuous improvement of project management practices across the Museum. The incumbent applies PMO standards, methodologies, governance requirements, and reporting frameworks while helping to strengthen project delivery capacity, portfolio visibility, organizational planning, and strategic decision-making.

    The Project Manager will lead projects that enhance the Museum’s facilities, infrastructure, visitor experience, accessibility, technology, and operational effectiveness, creating meaningful and lasting impacts for staff, visitors, and stakeholders alike.
