  • Senior Impact Researcher

    Job description

    About CDI

The Constructive Dialogue Institute (CDI) is a non-partisan, non-profit dedicated to equipping the next generation of Americans with the skills to communicate and collaborate across lines of difference. We work with U.S. colleges and universities by providing co-curricular programming for students, professional development for faculty and staff, and strategic guidance to leadership. Our goal is to foster constructive dialogue at every level of the institution and to create the conditions for lasting organizational change. CDI was co-founded by psychologist Jonathan Haidt, the bestselling author of The Righteous Mind and The Anxious Generation.

    About the Role

CDI is looking for a Senior Impact Researcher to own our evaluation agenda end-to-end — designing and executing impact and efficacy studies, building the measurement systems and analytical workflows behind them, and translating findings into insight that reaches academic, practitioner, funder, and public audiences.

This is a role for someone who cares as much about how research lands as how it’s designed — combining deep methodological expertise with a genuine commitment to public-facing communication. You’ll work at the intersection of rigorous social science and real-world organizational impact, contributing to both CDI’s mission and the broader field of constructive dialogue.

This role reports to the Senior Director of Research and Evaluation and works in close collaboration with three key peers on the Research and Evaluation team: the Research Scientist, who brings subject-matter expertise in moral psychology, dialogue, and bridge-building; the Senior Research Associate, who owns research operations, survey administration, and UX research; and the Senior Data Scientist, who owns the data infrastructure and reporting systems that evaluation workflows depend on.

    Responsibilities

Program Evaluation & Impact Research (50%)

    • Own CDI’s impact and efficacy research portfolio, including pre-post evaluations, quasi-experimental studies, and randomized controlled trials conducted in partnership with university collaborators.
    • Lead all phases of evaluation work: research design, measurement development, data collection planning, analysis, interpretation, and reporting.
    • Develop, revise, test, and validate assessment measures, including self-report surveys, behavioral indicators, and emerging measurement approaches.
    • Build and maintain reproducible analytical workflows and documentation standards that support rigorous, auditable research.

External Communication & Field Contribution (30%)

    • Through various written and oral formats, communicate research findings to diverse external audiences, including university partners, funders, academic and practitioner communities, and the general public.
    • Represent CDI’s research with accuracy, clarity, and appropriate nuance, in a manner consistent with CDI’s values and nonpartisan commitments.
    • Contribute to CDI’s external credibility and thought leadership in the fields of evaluation, dialogue education, and bridge-building.
    • Collaborate with Growth, Education, and Product teams to translate findings into program improvements and partner-facing materials.

    Research Systems & Collaboration (20%)

    • Partner with the Senior Data Scientist to ensure measurement and data collection workflows are well-integrated into reporting infrastructure and stakeholder-facing outputs.
    • Collaborate with the Senior Research Associate on qualitative data collection, coding, and synthesis, and on the operational systems that support study execution.
    • Build evaluation fluency across the team by helping colleagues develop shared language around measurement concepts, study findings, and their implications.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Education, and Growth teams to align evaluation priorities with organizational needs.

    Job requirements

    About You

    Required

    • 5+ years of experience leading applied social science research, including program evaluation or impact studies outside of purely academic settings.
    • Strong command of quantitative research design and advanced statistical methods (e.g., multilevel modeling, mediation/moderation, longitudinal analysis, experimental and quasi-experimental designs).
    • Experience designing and executing evaluations of interventions or programs, including in field (non-lab) settings.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated ability to write for non-academic audiences.
    • Experience presenting or publishing research findings for practitioner, funder, or public audiences.

    Preferred

    • Experience with mixed-methods research, including qualitative data collection and synthesis.
    • PhD in psychology, education, or a related quantitative social science field
    • Familiarity with higher education, civic learning, or dialogue/bridge-building contexts.
    • Experience programming in R; proficiency with reproducible research workflows.
    • Knowledge of implementation science or improvement science frameworks.
    • Experience collaborating with or advising product or education teams on measurement and evaluation.

    Benefits

    • Compensation — $130,000-$140,000
    • A Mission-Driven Culture — we practice what we preach, so our work culture is characterized by intellectual humility, continuous improvement, and open-mindedness
    • Remote-First — CDI was founded as a remote-first organization, and we work hard to maintain a strong team culture across vast distances

    About the Role

Every new campus partnership extends CDI’s mission to more students, faculty, and leaders. The Partnerships Associate helps make that growth possible by identifying prospective higher education partners and generating qualified meetings that bring CDI’s work to more colleges and universities.

This is a learn-and-grow role for someone early in their career, energized by outreach and motivated by mission. Reporting to the SVP of Partnerships, you’ll partner with the Senior Manager of Demand Generation to turn marketing interest into active conversations, and with the wider Partnerships team to learn how to research, prioritize, and engage prospective institutions.

We see this as a launch pad. As you build your skills and track record, this role offers a clear path toward more senior business development and Partnerships positions, with growing ownership and scope over time.

    • Execute personalized outbound outreach (email, phone, LinkedIn, and other channels) to prospective partner institutions, using approaches you develop together with your manager and the Partnerships team.

    • Actively build the skills, habits, and higher education knowledge that set you up for a growing role on the Partnerships team.

    Job requirements

    About You

    • Early in your career and eager to grow. You are a recent graduate or have up to roughly two years of professional experience. Internships, co-ops, campus jobs, fellowships, and other outreach-driven experience all count.
    • Genuine excitement for outreach and relationship-building, with a willingness to research, personalize, and follow up persistently to start real conversations.
    • Organized and dependable, able to manage a high volume of outreach without letting things fall through the cracks.
    • A clear, professional communicator in writing and conversation, comfortable engaging a range of people, including senior leaders.
    • Resilient and coachable. You are energized rather than discouraged by rejection and targets, and you actively seek out and apply feedback.
    • Self-motivated and goal-oriented, comfortable with metrics and energized (not intimidated) by targets.
    • Genuinely curious about higher education and motivated by CDI’s mission to build skills for constructive dialogue on college campuses.
    • A growth mindset, with eagerness to learn the nuances of business development, sales, and the higher education market.

This role includes managing and supporting a People Operations Generalist who leads CDI’s talent acquisition work and supports broader people operations processes. You’ll partner closely on talent strategy — especially for complex or senior searches — but your primary focus will be supporting employee experience, organizational culture, manager effectiveness, and the systems that help a growing organization function effectively.

You’ll report to and work closely with the VP of Operations and partner with managers and leaders across the organization. This is a highly collaborative role for someone who enjoys building strong relationships, supporting teams, and helping organizations grow thoughtfully.

    • Lead initiatives that strengthen CDI’s culture and employee experience, including onboarding, trainings, team gatherings, and org-wide rituals
    • Build and evolve the systems, feedback channels, and people practices that help CDI maintain a strong, connected, and mission-driven culture as we scale
    • Lead all-hands meetings and internal communications that build clarity, alignment, and connection across the organization

    Manager Support & Employee Development

    • Serve as a trusted thought partner to staff and managers by helping navigate team dynamics, challenges, and complex people situations before they become larger organizational issues
    • Coach managers on feedback, communication, accountability, and difficult conversations
    • Build and improve performance and development practices that support clear expectations, strong feedback, accountability, and employee growth
    • Partner with managers and leaders to strengthen leadership effectiveness and team health across CDI

    HR Operations & Compliance

    • Own CDI’s compensation framework and annual compensation review processes, ensuring practices are equitable, competitive, and aligned with organizational values
    • Oversee CDI’s core HR operations, systems, and compliance processes across a multi-state workforce (in partnership with our PEO, JustWorks)
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and evolving HR best practices
    • Develop and maintain HR policies, employee handbook materials, and internal practices that reflect CDI’s values and operational needs
    • Evaluate and manage HR vendors, benefits brokers, and external service providers

    Talent & Growth Strategy

    • Manage and support the People Operations Generalist, including coaching, prioritization, professional development, and partnership on recruiting strategy and complex hiring processes
    • Help evolve CDI’s hiring practices, candidate experience, and talent systems as the organization grows
    • Partner with leadership to strengthen organizational planning, team structure, capacity planning, workflows, and people systems that support sustainable growth

    • Strong generalist experience across core HR disciplines, including employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits, compliance, and talent acquisition
    • Experience directly managing and developing employees or small teams

You’ll thrive in this role if you…

    • Build trust and relationships quickly and navigate sensitive situations with strong judgment, maturity, empathy, and discretion
    • Care deeply about employee experience, organizational culture, and helping managers and leaders build strong teams, especially during periods of rapid growth
    • Balance strategic thinking with practical execution and are comfortable moving between organizational planning and day-to-day people operations
    • Are proactive, systems-oriented, and highly organized; you anticipate challenges and help build processes and practices that scale effectively
    • Feel energized by CDI’s mission and aligned with our values:
      • Embrace our Common Humanity

  • Advocacy & Membership Officer

    Description

Together for Girls works around the world and combines state-of-the-art data with powerful advocacy to end violence against children and adolescents, especially sexual violence. Through data and advocacy, TfG drives action to break cycles of violence and ensure prevention, healing, and justice. By connecting the dots between understanding the problem, identifying effective solutions, tracking progress, and mobilizing for action, TfG creates a synergistic effect that amplifies its impact and drives toward its ultimate goal of creating a safer world for children and adolescents.

Grounded in 19 years of data from the Violence Against Children and Youth Surveys (VACS), which provide a clear picture of the problem, we drive coordinated action through three initiatives that collectively contribute to ending violence against children. The Safe Futures Solutions Hub shares evidence and practice-based knowledge to inform effective prevention and response efforts, ensuring access to proven solutions across sectors. The Brave Movement mobilizes survivors and allies worldwide to drive political will, influence policy, and ensure that inaction is not an option. Finally, the Out of the Shadows Index tracks countries’ progress in addressing violence, providing an accountability framework and benchmark for advocacy. Together, these initiatives form a powerful model that transforms evidence into collective action for prevention, healing, and justice.

We are a nimble and highly impactful team that continues to grow and evolve. We work with a broad range of organizations, researchers, and advocates to drive change.
