About me
Tendai is a development practitioner, thought leader and former Chevening scholar with 15 years of
experience working on advisory work in research, Gender and Women’s Rights, Livelihoods,
Peacebuilding, Politics and Governance. In his rich work experience, Tendai has worked as a researcher
conducting inquiries on gender and womens rights. He also worked for Faith to Action Network as the
Advocacy Advisor and head of External relations (Senior Management Role), Catholic Agency for
Overseas Development (CAFOD), as the Advocacy Accompanier for the Match Funds and Global
Advocacy Program (GAP) on Food Systems in Africa. He also services the Common Wealth Local
Government Forum as an associate advisor. He worked for the Combined Harare Residents Association
(CHRA) as the programmes manager/Deputy Director, Seconded to the World Bank), and served for
the Campus Sustained Dialogue Network (CSDN). Tendai possesses a Master’s Degree in Development,
Governance and Public Policy from the Institute of Development Studies (IDS), Sussex University UK.
In terms of project management, I have critical skills around Monitoring and Evaluation from
baseline data gathering to end-line results check. I am adept at designing M&E plans including
indicator verification, Log Frame tracking, and designing data-gathering tools and results
frames. I have managed to design theories/logic of Change for Megaprojects at CAFOD and
F2A. I’m adept at proposal writing up to end of project report production.
I have experience working with remote teams in different countries. As a person, i pride
myself in celebrating diversity including at work and with partners I work with. In my previous
roles, I have managed colleagues based in the UK, Brussels, South Sudan, Nairobi, Indonesia,
Mali, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Uganda, and the Netherlands among others. I understand the
dynamics and ethics of working with different teams remotely meeting targets and managing
time differences.
