About me

Richard Kilonzo Waita is a highly accomplished individual with a diverse background in public health, community development, and education. After graduating in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health (Public Health) from Kenyatta University, I achieved second-class honours, upper division. I also hold distinctions in Diplomas in Community Health and Community Development, along with certificates in leadership and mentorship from Kenyatta University and tackling the novel coronavirus from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

Professionally, I’m currently serving as the deputy commander in charge of public health enforcement with Nairobi City County. My role involves enforcing public health matters, executing warrants, inspecting premises, and collaborating with health-related sectors to combat infectious diseases through education and promotion. My experience also includes lecturing at the Thika School of Medical and Health Sciences, supervising internship students at Kenya Ports Authority, and managing programs at Help Age International.

Despite coming from a background with limited resources, I worked very hard to pursue my University education. My journey from humble beginnings to a leadership role in public health enforcement showcases my resilience and dedication to improving community health.
