Accounting & Compliance Manager
• Prepare HIVSA’s consolidated financial statements, including all donors, in compliance with the IFRS for SMEs and Companies Act of South Africa • Collaborate with the Finance Manager and CEO to prepare comprehensive financial reports for quarterly board meetings. Address board queries and provide detailed feedback through the CEO • Manage the internal audit framework for donor funds, review year-end journals for accuracy, and perform compliance reviews to ensure adherence to relevant regulations and guidelines • Coordinate with external auditors to ensure timely and accurate completion of audits. Prepare necessary documentation and address audit queries to facilitate a smooth audit process • Prepare the schedule of expenditure on USAID awards-funded projects • Play a lead role in all monthly financial reporting to donors and managed relationships between USAID and HIVSA NPC • Review every quarter the internal compliance to ensure HIVSA transactions are processed according to donor and procurement policies and procedures • Review timesheet allocations and leave provisions to appropriate programs • Prepare the monthly operational budget vs expenditure and consolidate the quarterly budget vs expenditure • Perform monthly investment account reconciliations and advise on how company reserves can be effectively managed • Review yearly standard operating procedures • Review year-end journals and ensure accuracy • Review year-end depreciation and ensure it is correctly reconciled to the GL • Manage the internal audit framework for all donor funds • Evaluate or assess the Finance and Operations Risk Register to ensure its implementation • Manage compliance reviews to ensure adherence to rules, regulations, laws, codes of practice, guidelines, and principles • Create an annual compliance framework/plan for HIVSA • Develop recommendations and corrective actions for compliance findings • Perform risk assessments and prepare and present reports regarding findings to EXCO • Serve as a subject matter expert in all tax and VAT-related matters
