    As a Marketing Strategist at Yellow, I’m tasked with creating marketing strategies for a wide range of clients, and part of that involves taking complex marketing challenges and finding those opportunities that can really help a brand grow. It strikes me that these skills could be really useful when applying for grants, since those proposals often require a deep dive into an organization’s mission and the problem they are trying to tackle, and then laying out a clear plan for how they’ll use the grant money to make a difference. One thing that stands out to me from my work at Yellow is the importance of making things clear and easy to understand. Just like I need to grab the attention of a potential customer, grant reviewers are looking at tons of proposals, so getting the message across quickly and effectively is key. My experience identifying growth opportunities for brands feels like it could be helpful in figuring out which funding sources are the best fit, which has come up before as an important part of successful grant writing.
