About me

I am a dedicated advocate for minority rights, with a strong focus on empowering young girls and promoting mental health awareness within marginalized communities. As a member of the Mijikenda ethnic group and the Chonyi linguistic community in Kenya, I have always been passionate about amplifying the voices of underrepresented groups. Through my involvement with organizations such as the Watoto Wasome Initiative and Oky Girls for Girls, I deliver motivational talks and mentorship focused on education, gender equality, and mental health. I was instrumental in developing the “Oky Talk and AI version,” a platform designed to create a safe space for young girls to discuss challenges and receive support.

In addition to my advocacy work, I serve as a part-time public speaker with GL Events, where I lead workshops and talks on girls’ empowerment and mental health. My background as a Certified Coding Specialist with LVCT Health has enabled me to teach valuable technical skills to individuals, preparing them for careers in the growing health tech industry. I also work as a Mental Health Caregiver at Port Reitz Hospital, where I provide compassionate care and educate communities to reduce the stigma around mental health conditions.

Currently, I am leading advocacy campaigns focused on girls’ education, mental health, and youth empowerment through my Advocacy Internship at Pwaniteknogalz. I am passionate about creating lasting change in communities by improving access to health and social services for underserved populations. My work has positioned me to be a strong advocate for minority rights, and I am eager to further my efforts through the Minority Fellowship Programme (MFP) 2025.

Advocacy For Women and Children Rights

At PwaniTeknowGalz, I am committed to empowering young women in marginalized communities by equipping them with employable coding and technology skills. Through this initiative, I advocate for women’s rights while helping bridge the gender gap in tech. My work includes providing training on coding, digital literacy, and other technical skills to enable young women to become financially independent and enter the technology workforce. In addition, I organize mentorship programs and workshops that focus on both technical and personal development, preparing these women for meaningful career opportunities and encouraging them to become leaders in their communities.
