Regenerate Africa is a non-government organization that works to accelerate Africa’s just transition to a regenerative economy. We work hand-in-hand with communities along with partners across governments, industries, investors, donors, Universities, NGOs and finances to promote and practice multi-sectoral inclusive and regenerative food, agriculture and land-use practices, innovative climate and renewable energy solutions, forest and water resources, gender and health, regenerative business and supply chain solutions that create living incomes, cut emissions, promote public health and protect, manage and restore ecosystems across Africa. But to truly drive impact, our work must be effectively communicated, our knowledge must be organized and accessible, and our engagement with stakeholders must be strategic, dynamic, and impactful.

This is why we need a Communications & Knowledge Management Officer—someone who can turn our data, research, and real-world impact into compelling visuals, stories, and campaigns that engage donors, communities, and partners. Someone who ensures that our insights, tools, and lessons learned aren’t just stored away but are shared, amplified, and acted upon.

Responsibilities

  • Craft and execute detailed communication strategies and work plans tailored to amplify the RA’s visibility and impact.
  • Implement quality control measures and adherence protocols to maintain the integrity of the brand. This involves regular reviews of all communication materials to ensure they meet the highest standards and are consistent with organisational guidelines.
  • Lead the creation, editing, and final production of a diverse range of knowledge products, ensuring they are insightful, accurately represent and adhere to the RA’s .
  • Coordinate communications activities
  • Manage the end-to-end process of content creation for digital platforms, including websites and social media, ensuring content is engaging, up-to-date, and strategically aligned to enhance RA visibility and stakeholder engagement.
  • Take the lead in organizing and promoting RA specific events. This includes creating compelling promotional materials and utilising digital platforms to engage a wider audience and increase participation in both virtual and physical spaces.
  • Oversee the branding, marketing and communicating RA’s Business, Nature and Sustainability initiatives, investments and projects
  • Coordinate efforts to capture, manage, and share knowledge within the organization
  • Oversee the creation, editing, and dissemination of key knowledge and research products, ensuring consistency with our branding and communication standards.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with media outlets to enhance RA visibility. This includes managing all aspects of media relations, from press release distribution to co-managing virtual event platforms and ensuring consistent, positive coverage of RA program initiatives.
  • Network and liaise with partners and potential partners, developing and maintaining partnerships and strong relationships across all sectors (including the private sector).
  • When required, represent RA and maintain good working relationships among the international and local NGO community in the basins, among community leadership structures and community-based organisations.
  • Co-investment and developing new proposals.
  • Play a role in identifying funding opportunities and the development of concept papers and proposals.
  • Oversee procurement of communication equipment, supplies, and services, ensuring compliance with RA’s Internal Control System procedures.

Qualifications

  • A digital enthusiast with a passion for storytelling and design – You live and breathe digital communication, always looking for new and creative ways to connect with our audiences. You understand that great design isn’t just about looking good—it’s about making information engaging and easy to understand.
  • Proven experience in design (yes, we need to see your portfolio!) – You should have a strong background in visual communication, whether it’s creating infographics, social media content, website visuals, or reports that don’t just inform but also impress. We want someone who can translate complex ideas into visually compelling designs that people actually want to read.
  • Experienced with email and SMS marketing platforms like Brevo – If you’ve worked with platforms like Brevo, Mailchimp, or HubSpot, that’s a huge plus! You should understand how to set up campaigns, segment audiences, and use automation to maximize engagement.
  • Comfortable setting up and optimizing automation workflows – We want someone who knows how to set up automated email and SMS sequences to keep our audience engaged. You should be able to configure triggers, personalize messages, and optimize for better conversion rates.
  • Data-driven and results-oriented – You don’t just send out emails and hope for the best—you track performance, analyze metrics, and tweak campaigns based on what’s working. If A/B testing, open rates, and CTRs excite you, you’re exactly who we’re looking for.
  • Great at organizing and managing knowledge resources – You’ll play a key role in making sure our internal resources are well-organized and easily accessible. Whether it’s managing shared drives, creating internal guides, or structuring digital libraries, you should be proactive in knowledge management.
  • Proactive about innovation and growth – Whether it’s a new design trend, a smarter way to automate client engagement, or a fresh approach to knowledge sharing, we want someone who constantly looks for ways to make us better. Your insights and suggestions will always be valued.
